Winterizing Products
For Your Home
or Office
Changing seasons means homeowners should begin winterizing their homes
now in preparation for the cold winter months ahead.

Helpful Hints for Window Kit Application
WindowInsulator Kits include plastic film that adheres to window frames with removable tape. The plastic is sealed
and shrunk tight using a hair dryer, leaving a clear barrier between your home and the winter cold. The latest window
insulation innovation is the Duck Brand Roll-On Window Insulator KIt, which installs in less time than traditional kits
because it has a pre-taped top edge and the plastic is rolled for easy application.
  • For maximum tape adhesion, apply window kits to a clean, solid surface.
  • When using indoor shrink window kits, don't over shrink the film. This will make the film pop off the tape.
  • Avoid touching the hair dryer to the film as it will put holes in the plastic. Allow at least 6" between the hair
    dryer and film.
  • Do not use the outdoor window kit indoors. Outdoor kits use a stronger adhesive which can withstand
exposure to the sun's UV-rays and winter elements. When used indoors, this tape will leave an adhesive
residue and may cause surface damage.
  • Do not use indoor window kit outside. The tape  in this kit is not strong enough to withstand harsh winter
    temperatures and exposure to UV-rays.
In the following kits you will receive one sheet of plastic film. The size is listed with each product.

Duck brand Window Kits will save you time and reduce the hassle of insulating your windows from winter
drafts. And, they are a great alternative to purchasing pricey new windows. Whether you use a traditional
Duck brand Window Kit or a Duck brand Roll-On® Window Kit, both provide a draft-proof seal with a film
you won’t even know is there. The adhesive used on both kits holds firmly to window moldings and
removes cleanly and easily when the season is over. Window kits are best used on windows with trim or
molding.

The traditional Duck brand Window Kit is comprised of a crystal-clear plastic film and special double-sided
tape. The kit is easily installed by following simple directions, which describe how to cut the right size of
plastic and how to adhere it to the window correctly.

Window Kits are available for both indoor and outdoor use. If you plan to install a kit outside, make sure
you put it up before the temperature gets below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you would like to take a shortcut in the installation process, Duck brand Roll-On® Window Insulator Kit
is the right choice for you. Most frustrations with window kits have to do with the installation. The Roll-On®
Window Insulator Kit makes the task of window insulation easier than ever.

The patented Duck brand Roll-On Window Insulator Kit installs in less time than traditional window
insulation kits because it requires no measuring and minimal cutting. First, the plastic film is applied and
adhered to the window using its unique pre-taped top edge. To ensure maximum tape adhesion, the
window kits need to be applied to a clean, solid surface. Then, the film is unfolded to cover the entire
window and users adhere it around the window by applying double-sided tape (provided in the kit). Next,
the film is heated with a blow dryer to shrink it into place around the window for a firm seal against drafts.
For the most effective installation, the blow dryer must be used at least six inches from the film. The film
seals the window and blocks drafts, and in addition the layer of air trapped between the window and the
plastic forms an insulating barrier to help keep heated air inside.
